Ladyhawke

I have discovered Ladyhawke (aka Pip Brown).

Just a few days ago, I saw her song "Dusk till dawn" on a trailer for the new series of Skins (which I will no doubt post about eventually as it rocks!) and was compelled to listen to some more of this talented New Zealander's stuff. It doesn't disappoint, with an irresistable, somewhat chaotic combo of electro-synthpop, complete with credibility and charisma to boot.

Top tracks? As previously mentioned, "Dusk till dawn" is my favourite (check out the spooky vid!), but equally good is "Better than Sunday" (great chorus) and "Paris is burning" is quickly becoming a top favourite! Current sounding and with the retro-fabulous vibe that I'm so fond of, I hope we will be hearing more from Ladyhawke.

Would play nicely with MGMT's "Electric feel" and the stomper "Kids" and some of her stuff reminds me of "Little lies" by Fleetwood Mac. And that's no bad thing :D
